Dark cranberry in color with a hint of baking spiceon the nose. Flavors of

Wine Advocate 92 points - The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous example of elegance allied to power. The final blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc offers up notes of crushed rock, spring flowers, red and black currants, and plum as well as hints of white chocolate and subtle barrique smells. Medium to full-bodied, with a nicely layered mouthfeel that builds incrementally, the wine has superb purity as well as accessability. It can be drunk now or cellared for 15 or more years. (Dec 2009)
Established in 1981 by Ron and Diane Miller, this winery has been producing proprietor-grown wines that possess richness,
elegance and age-worthiness. Over time, the Miller family has assembled a rich and diverse mosaic of six family-owned
sustainably farmed vineyards, each selected for its ability to contribute nuance and character to the wines.
Silverado has always searched for quality by implementing state-of-the-art viticultural techniques and creative winemaking
methods. From its early use of extended maceration (a common technique today) to its recent focus on newly-designed small,
stainless steel barrels in its Chardonnay program.
Jon Emmerich is only the second lead winemaker in the history of Silverado Vineyards. After graduating from The University of
California, Davis in 1987 with a BS in Fermentation Science, Emmerich worked a harvest at Stags Leap Wine Cellars before
moving on to Silverado Vineyards. During his years at the winery, he has grown Silverado's reputation for quality and
consistency.
