The Champagne region is in talks to
extend its borders, adding 1.8 miles of land that will
encompass 40 villages. Today, Charles De Fere is considered
sparkling wine produced right outside of Champagne. If the expansion occurs,
this little gem will be part of Champagne.
This Chardonnay-dominated
reserve is champagne-like, and looks particularly good in its
current release. Yeasty, smooth and round, with tropical-fruit aromas.
Melon, apple, and nutmeg/cinnamon aromas with a solid,
warm, and round finish. A nice quaffer with just enough nuance
and style to rise above the masses. It will not last at this great
price, so purchase it now!

| The World of Charles de Fère. Where wine becomes something different, something special. Wine with a secret spirit so exciting that you can actually see it. Thoughts that last but a moment, the time required to float to the lip of your glass and attain freedom from earthly limits. A taste you can feel.
The secret of sparkling wines is the blend, whether they are from Champagne or other regions of France. This is the winemaker’s art. It is the choices he makes that determines what is often referred to as the House style. The style of Charles de Fère is to voluntarily refuse territorial limits, building close partnership relations with growers so that we can select cuvées from northerly vineyards for their freshness and elegance, together with cuvées from southern vineyards for ripe fruit, body and smoothness. This bold approach adds finesse, structure, and a complex harmony of flavors that makes Charles de Fère what it is today.
