The origins of the Castell family can be traced back to the year 1057, and there is evidence to suggest viticulture as early as 1224. This is a full-bodied wine with rich, well-balanced, dry style. Silvaner is a flowery wine in the nose and mouth laced with mineral undertones. It holds strong resemblance to Chablis; medium weight in the palate with good acidity. An excellent accompaniment ro sausage, roast chicken and pork dishes.
