Sauvignon Blanc lovers; take note! Sancerre is the pinnacle of French Sauvignon Blanc. Not only is it a style of wine -- Sancerre (pronounced sahn-SEHR), is a place, too! Sancerre is located in the upper portion of France's Loire valley, and about 120 miles slightly south west of Paris.
Before owning over 24 acres of coveted vineyards, Jerome and Frederique Gueneau started from nothing to build themselves an empire. Their wines are not only served at fine dining restaurants but also at the table to the French prime minister!
True to its terroir, this Sancerre is bursting with crisp flintiness on the nose. A fine wine with an intense bouquet of tropical fruit, minerality, and fullness. Enjoy this crisp white with shellfish, oysters, grilled fish or by itself on your front porch.
If the prime minister drinks this wine, it must be amazing!
