It seems that many domestic producers of Pinot Gris often forget about one crucial element...the acid. Many times the wines taste 'gloppy' and a bit clumsy due to too much sweetness, oak and a general lack of acidity. Thankfully, Montinore Estate hasn't forgotten anything. Unoaked, it has crisp, tight acidity with clean floral fruit, stony minerality and a touch of spiciness. The wine is well balanced with great focus and finish. Unlike many of its competitors, this wine is true to its grape and will work perfectly with food. Did somebody say grilled fish?

Very aromatic with notes of fresh ripe pear, yellow apple and a pleasant floral/herbal accent. On the palate it bursts into flavors of ripe honeydew melon with hints of mango overlaying ripe apple & pear character. The long finish is dry, fresh and crisp with a sweet, tart apple essence and distinct mineral qualities.
